Mobile Meals of Salem is a community-built program delivering weekday meals to homebound neighbors in Salem and Perry Township — sustained by volunteers and a hospital partnership for more than fifty years.
The goal has stayed the same across five decades: deliver nutrition, routine, and a caring presence to people who need support at home.
Menus are created by hospital dieticians, with delivery available Monday through Friday, Monday/Wednesday/Friday, or weekdays as requested.
Volunteers are generally assigned two to four days each month. Deliveries run from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and routes typically take about two hours to complete.
Meals are prepared at Salem Regional Medical Center from menus created under the direction of hospital dieticians.
Fifty years of service and 400k+ meals served speak to the consistency families depend on.
